30 Forensic Engineering, Canada’s leading and fully-independent multi-disciplinary forensics firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Abrar Khan P.Eng., M.E.Sc. as Intermediate Associate within the Civil/Structural Failure group
Abrar obtained his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), specializing in structural and transportation engineering. After graduation, he pursued a Masters of Engineering Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering degree at the University of Western Ontario (UWO). At UWO, Abrar joined Alan G. Davenport Wind Engineering Group as a Graduate Research Assistant where he worked on the ‘Three Little Pigs’ Research Project at The Insurance Research Lab for Better Homes. In his master’s program, he developed an experimental set-up to study the load-sharing phenomena between roof trusses of low-rise residential wood-framed houses and how it contributes to the overall failure of the roof under realistic high wind loads.
In his most recent experience he developed skills in dynamic analysis of structures for wind-induced structural responses and determining cladding design wind loads for façades based on wind tunnel testing on a variety of structures. Prior to that, he worked in a geotechnical laboratory performing soil and concrete testing. Abrar achieved his P.Eng. designation in 2016.
