EXPERT SUMMARY
Mel Gilkinson is a Senior Associate in the Electrical and Renewable Energy Group at 30 Forensic Engineering. He holds a 309A Electrical License issued by the College of Trades along with a Master Electricians license. He has investigated hundreds of solar installations for code conformity, along with testing installations for faults and issues which would create future problems. Along with work in the solar industry, he has investigated electrical failures in residential, industrial, agricultural and institutions. He also assisted in the development of the CSA 1000 Model Code Standard (Canadian guideline for Field Approval of electrical equipment). Prior to joining 30, Mel worked in the electrical industry from actual installations of multiple types, to a provincially recognized electrical inspector, equipment approvals inspector (Canadian and American code specifications), performing Quality Assurance and Control in the nuclear industry has provided an extensive experience for performing investigations in his field.
