The article, entitled “Challenges in Fire Damage Assessment and Remediation: Forensic Engineering Perspectives” (20-21) appears in the April/May issue of Claims Canada, and discusses the complex world of assessing and remediating fire damage.

Kirsten addresses the fundamental question: How can the environmental aspects of a fire claim be best managed in the absence of universally accepted best practices? An important step in assessing fire damage from an environmental perspective is understanding the impact of potentially hazardous fire residue. The right expertise and experience are extremely important in these murky waters.
