Fire & Electrical

The Fire & Electrical Investigations group is a diverse crossover team of engineers, specialists, investigators, and technicians who provide cause and origin analysis of fire and explosion incidents, as well as electrical failures associated with low (110v-600v), medium voltage (600v – 27,600v) and high voltage (greater than 27600v).

The clients we serve are as diverse as our team, and include loss adjusters, insurance companies, lawyers, power and distribution utilities, industry, private individuals, and electrical installation companies. Our investigation process provides our clients with unbiased reporting for potential subrogation, remediation or litigation on behalf of plaintiffs or defendants.

Our fire team investigate and establishes the cause and origin of a wide variety of residential and industrial fires, often complex in nature with many parties involved. These have included electrical arc, faulty cables, failures in transformers, electronic component, batteries and inverters, wood burning stoves and gas explosions. Once our team has performed an initial investigation, we work with the client, and, where necessary, bring in colleagues from within 30 Forensic Engineering to provide the most comprehensive, cost-effective investigation, reporting, and remediation options possible.

In our electrical investigations, we use our extensive, hands-on knowledge of electrical systems in utilities, generation, transmission, distribution, large and small industrial installations, residential and condominiums. We apply our detailed understanding of past and present industry standards, building code and electrical safety codes to provide investigation, root cause identification, engineering support, identification of subrogation and expert reports. At the same time, we provide project management, specification, and remediation to meet our client’s budget, helping ensure all systems are properly reinstated.

30 Forensic Engineering has its own laboratory which is well equipped for examinations, and also has relationships with external laboratories for specialized sample testing.

Ours is a team established with real-world, hands-on experience. They’ve earned a reputation for superlative reporting, enabling informed resolutions or litigation.

  • Seasoned expertise in every aspect of fire and electrical investigation / remediation
  • Unrivaled knowledge, hands on experience of low to high voltage and fire patterns
  • Experienced expert reporting and witnesses

Comprehensive. Diverse. Practiced.
